私の「華美（Flower）」シリーズは、花の開花を生命の繁殖行為として捉え、その本能的な営みから派生する「生と性」の根源的なリアリティを視覚的に探求する写真作品群です。本シリーズは、私が長年探求してきた人間の根源的な衝動としての「性」というテーマを、緊縛という表現手段から離れ、純粋に植物の生命活動を通して考察する試みである。
作品においては、瑞々しく開いた花弁の形態、今にも飛散しそうな花粉の質感、そして揺らぐ茎の線といった微細な要素を精密に捉える。これらの視覚的要素は、単なる植物の描写に留まらず、その対象が持つ「生きた存在」としての本能的衝動と、それに伴う官能性を明確に提示する。
本シリーズの作品は、アーヴィング・ペンが追求したような対象の本質を捉える構成美と、アラーキーが提示したような深層に迫る情念を内包し、これらを日本独自の美意識と感性によって融合させることで、独自の視覚体験を構築している。私は、花が持つ生命の営みの背後にある普遍的な性と生のメカニズムを分析的に切り取り、それを高純度の美的表現へと昇華させることを目指している。

My "Kabi (Flower)" series is a collection of photographic works that visually explore the fundamental reality of "life and sexuality" derived from the instinctive act of flowering, by perceiving the blooming of a flower as an act of reproduction. This series represents an endeavor to examine the theme of "sexuality"—a fundamental human impulse I have long explored—through the pure biological activity of plants, stepping away from Kinbaku as a primary means of expression.
In these works, I meticulously capture subtle elements such as the form of freshly opened petals, the texture of pollen poised to disperse, and the delicate lines of swaying stems. These visual components transcend mere botanical description, clearly presenting the subject's instinctive impulses as a "living entity" and the sensuality that accompanies them.
The works in this series embody the compositional beauty that Irving Penn pursued in capturing the essence of a subject, and the profound emotion that Nobuyoshi Araki presented, fusing these with a unique Japanese aesthetic and sensibility to create a distinctive visual experience. My aim is to analytically dissect the universal mechanisms of sexuality and life inherent in the biological processes of flowers, and to elevate this into a highly refined aesthetic expression.
When displayed on a wall, the "Kabi (Flower)" series imbues the space with the presence of life and a lingering sense of sensuality. The way the works reveal new expressions in response to changes in season or the viewer's mood reflects the concepts of continuity and change inherent in life, serving as an artistic practice that prompts the viewer's introspection into their own "life and sexuality."
